How To Use A Tanning Bed

Most people use a tanning bed when they do not have the time to sit outside for hours on end praying that they will get some type of a tan. These tanning beds use special groups of fluorescent bulbs that help to recreate ultraviolet rays from the sun to tan the skin. They are much faster and more effective at achieving the look you want. But before you run out to the nearest tanning salon you should learn about how to use these tanning beds safely.

The first thing you are going to want to do is to determine how dark you want to be. Speak with the associate at the tanning salon and explain to them what shade you wish to be at. They will tell you the approximate time that you should be in the bed. Before you are able to even turn the bed on you must specify the time. Because these tanning beds are so strong it is advised that you spend no more than twenty minutes inside of it. Also you should never use them two days in a row.

Just like if you were out in the sun you need to make sure that you wear the necessary safety devices. The tanning salon will provide special safety dark goggles that will keep out the harmful rays from your eyes and avoid them from penetrating your eyelids. You must also wear lip balm, plugs for your nose, and a small amount of suntan lotion and moisturizing cream.

If you have never used a tanning bed before than you will need to start off very slowly or else you will burn. You must only spend three to four minutes on your first trip. Over a period of three to four week you can slowly and gradually increase that time.

After each session of tanning you must use a disinfectant or antibacterial wipe. It is possible to transmit certain diseased through these tanning beds. That is why it is important to choose a clean and well respected salon that makes sure to clean all of their beds thoroughly.
